New Born Care Clinic established at CHK

KARACHI:Child Survival Program (CSP) in Sindh has established New Born Care Clinic at Paedi OPD of Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) on Thursday.

Medical Superintendent, CHK, Dr Khadim Qureshi and Director Child Survival program Dr M.N Lal inaugurated the clinic. This clinic was established as per WHO’s/UNICEF guidelines considering its priority and importance to improve new born and child survival.

The new borns are dying because of late diagnosis and improper care at the initial stage. This clinic will helpful identify earlier and treat as per new evidence based PSBI, IMNCI guidelines.

On this occasion, WHO/UNICEF officials Dr Badar and Dr Kamal highlighted the importance of new born care clinic in health facilities.

Head of the paeds Ward Dr Yousef informed that more than 1000 newborns are born in Civil Hospital, so this clinic will have great significance.

Chief Guest MS CHK Dr Khadim Qureshi has also assured his full support for new born care clinic and allocation of staff.

In the end, he distributed gifts among retired paeds OPD Aya and Admin RMO Dr Shanker on his retirement.
