New Nursing Education Block with Rs70m cost inaugurated at KGH

KARACHI:Kharadar General Hospital’s New Nursing Education Block was inaugurated by renowned Philanthropist Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, CEO Indus Hospital.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, he said in order to face the serious health challenges of the nation, the nursing manpower must be increased inevitably. He further added that well equipped nursing staff with latest technology could bring changes to the human life; therefore, latest intervention in the field of research and technology was mandatory.

President, Kharadar General Hospital, Mohammad Bashir Janmohammad said on the accomplishment of 100 years, the hospital service milestone is this new block which is a gift to the students of Lyari and its adjacent areas. He said that this new block will not only provide new directions to the nursing education but also address the shortage of nation’s nursing staff issue.

Ceremony’s guest of honor, Professor Mohammad Saeed Qureshi, Vice Chancellor Dow University of Health Sciences said that the educational institute equipped with modern technology had guaranteed bright future for the nation. “Proper professional education at nominal charges is a blessing for Lyari and the adjacent areas which is fulfilling their health requirement.”

Chairman Hospital Management Committee Prof Dr AG Billoo said: “We can only value human life through protection from illness and we want to relieve human pain through increase nursing manpower. This new education block has been established with a cost of Rs 70 million, which will be the source of enhancing quality nursing education. Guest of Honor, Chairperson Academic Council, Pakistan Nursing Council Prof Yasmeen Amersey highlighted importance of nursing profession and said nursing profession was directly linked with the care of patient from the intensive care patient to the healthy human being. Nurse need to be more professional in acquiring better communication and clinical skills and perform their task whole heartedly. CEO, Kharadar General Hospital Dr Khalid Iqbal and Principal, School of Nursing Ms Talat Shah also addressed the ceremony. Awards were distributed at the end of the ceremony.
