Online training for prevention of COVID-19 soon

KARACHI:Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) Directorate of Clinical Governance and Training team held meeting with Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Society of Pakistan (MMIDSP) for conducting online workshops for Healthcare Establishments and Healthcare Providers for training on infection prevention and Control for COVID-19.

In the meeting it was also decided that SHCC will conduct clinical audit of hospitals and confirm that HCEs’ are following isolation protocols. SHCC team will also check availability and quality of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as per international standards. In case of need one hour short training session will be conducted for HCEs’ as per hospital requirement.

Directorate of Anti-Quackery has conducted operation in Sindh for unauthorized Labs/Diagnostic Centers for COVID-19 tests. 52 labs/Diagnostic Centers were inspected out of which were issued 19 warnings notices and three were sealed on the spot.

The Directorate in its operations against quacks sealed a total 3502 Healthcare Establishments (HCEs’) so far and total warnings for non-compliance issued to clinics are 1132.

The Directorate of Complaint has received till date total 132 complaints out of which 87 complaints are disposed of, 39 complaints are under process while 7 are sub-judice.

The Directorate of Licensing and Accreditation has received 21 new applications for registration in this week and total number of applications for registration received is 10,739 till date.

The registration certificates were issued to 18 HCEs’ in this week bringing total number of registration certificates issued HCEs’ to 9509.
