KARACHI:Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday sough a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report from Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on the orders of Supreme Court in the murder case of Orangi Pilot Project’s director Parveen Rehman.
A two-member bench of the SHC heard the pleas of three suspects Amjad Sawati, Ayaz Ali and Ayaz Sawati in the Parveen Rehman murder case.
The counsel of the accused contented that FIA had formed a JIT report against the accused on the directives of Supreme Court. The bench asked where is that JIT report?
The counsel replied that the JIT report could still not be provided to them. The court sought the JIT report against the accused and adjourned the hearing till 30 May.
However, the counsel of an accused Imran Sawati, told the court that his client had completed the sentence as he had been behind the prison since pat four years. He said FIA had conducted an investigation from the accused in prison.
