PIM starts diploma in Healthcare and Clinical Governance

KARACHI:Pakistan Institute of Management (PIM) in collaboration with Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) has started a diploma course in quality in healthcare, clinical governance and service delivery standards.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Sindh Healthcare Commission and Pakistan Institute of Management (PIM) earlier in August.

This is an advanced senior executive level course being conducted for the first time in Pakistan with the collaboration of the Sindh Health Care Commission and the Pakistan Institute of Management (Karachi).

In addition to quality in healthcare, this course addresses all the internationally defined parameters of clinical governance and applies the standards of the Sindh health care commission to all aspects of management of healthcare facilities.

The course is an invaluable resource for all Medical Institutions seeking Registration of the SHCC along with enhancing career objectives of Healthcare Management personnel at senior levels. The program is of four-month duration.

However, SHCC and Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Society of Pakistan (MMIDSP) held infection control second hands-on workshop this week in SIUT, Karachi.

The training was conducted by Dr Shehla Baqai and Dr. Bushra Jamil. Participants including doctors and nurses from Healthcare Establishments (HCEs’) in Karachi attended the workshop.

Separately, Directorate of Clinical Governance and Training, SHCC held Sindh Infection Prevention and Control taskforce meeting on October 3, 2019.

In the meeting Waste Management rules 2008 was being discussed.

Directorate of Anti-Quackery has sealed total 2384 Healthcare Establishments (HCEs’) in Sindh so far. While warnings issued to HCEs’ for non-compliance till date are 622.

Directorate of Complaint has received total 99 complaints till date out of which 75 complaints are disposed of, 18 complaints are under process while 6 are sub-judice.

Directorate of Licensing and Accreditation has received 100 new applications for registration in this week. Till date total number of applications for registration reached to 9377.certificates were issued to 50 HCEs’ in this week bringing total number of registration certificates issued to 8250 HCEs’.

The team conducted inspection of J.O clinic and Karwan- e- Hayat in this week.
