PMA seeks support of parliamentarians on PMDC issue

KARACHI:Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) in a release here Friday appreciated Chairman Senate Standing Committee on National Health Services on PMDC issues.

The release said PMA has already rejected the PMDC Ordinance 2019 under which a selected council has been formed, which is in total violation of PMDC ordinance-1962.

PMA has always stressed upon to make PMDC an autonomous, independent, transparent, democratic and vibrant body to look after the related issues in a democratic and transparent way. “Through this ordinance, we think that there will be no change in the affairs of PMDC and it will remain a continuation of the mess which we have witnessed for decades.”

PMA requests the members of senate and national assembly to come forward and support PMA by raising their voice against this illegal, unconstitutional and destructive ordinance and put all your acts together to stop and reject PMDC ordinance 2019 in both houses of the parliament in near future.

PMA further requested the Chairman and all the members of senate Standing Committee on National Health Services to reject the PMDC ordinance-2019 and work for the dissolution of this ordinance. PMA wants an immediate elections as per constitution of PMDC and the elected body should manage the affairs of PMDC as per rules and regulations of PMDC, the release concludes.
