Quran Khwani held for Karsaz carnage martyrs

LARKANA: The Chairman, District Council, Khan Muhammad Sangroo, Muhammad Punhal Luhar, Provincial President, Sindh Peoples Hari Committee, Naundero municipality chairman A D Bhutto, vice chairman Sikander Ali Katpar, Aijaz Laghari and others took part in the Quran Khwani which was held at the graves of 20 unclaimed martyrs of 18th October 2007 Karsaz carnage of Karachi, on their 11th anniversary, in Garhi Khuda Bux on Thursday.

Thousands of PPP activists had arrived from the entire country to receive their cherished leader Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto when two bomb blasts occurred in which so may workers lost their lives and many were injured. 20 bodies were unidentified and remained unclaimed for much time and were kept at Edhi Center in Karachi for which Mohtarma directed before her own martyrdom that they may be laid to rest in Garhi Khuda Bux as “Main Bhutto Hoon”.

After recitation and offering of prayers, free food (Lungar) was distributed among the participants which also included women activists. These local leaders said that the PPP workers sacrificed their lives when they had come to receive their cherished leader on her return from long self-exile. They said not only PPP leaders but its workers have also sacrificed their precious lives to strengthen democracy for which we salute them.
