Shikarpur: An anti-corruption team conducted raid on Food Department Godown here and took its record in their possession here on Thursday.
According to reports, anti-corruption team led by Circle Officer Saeed Ahmed Bhayo conducted a raid on Food Department godown Shikarpur in the presence of Judicial Magistrate and Food Controller and took record of previous five years in their custody.
According to Ashraf Keerio, the Food Controller one Rafique Ahmed Mufti has been the Incharge of the godown for last six years and is involved in disappearing the 70000 wheat bags and also mixing up dust and stones in about 200000 wheat bags stored in the godown.
Circle Officer Saeed Ahmed Bhayo Shikarpur said that they suspect a fraud of more than Rs243700000. The record shows that corrupt officials are involved in smuggling of thousands of wheat bags to Afghanistan via Quetta.
