Rallies across Sindh to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day

KARACHI:Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Sindh chapter on Monday held rallies and demonstration across the province to mark ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ and to support Kashmiris’ struggle for right of self-determination.

The rallies were staged in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Nawabshah, Badin, Tando Mohammad Khan, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Thatta, Hala, Khairpur and other towns which were led by JI local leaders. Resolutions to express solidarity with the Kashmiris and condemn Indian military occupation were also adopted in the rallies.

The participants demanded of the international community to play their due role for the resolving the Kashmir Issue as per the wishes of Kashmiri people.

The participants kept chanting ‘Kashmir Banega Pakistan’ (Kashmir will join Pakistan), “Kashmir Ki Azadi Tak Jang Jari Raehigi’ (War till Kashmir gets freedom) and other slogans.

Addressing a rally in Hyderabad, the JI Sindh Chief Dr Mairaj-ul-Huda Siddiqui said Kashmir was not just a name of some part of the land but also the name of an ideology. Kashmiris were fighting a war for completion of Pakistan.

Lashing out on the government for not giving priority to Kashmir, Dr Huda said Indian premier Narendra Modi taking full advantage of our weakness was violating ceasefire on the line of control due to which our army personnel and innocent citizens embrace martyrdoms. He said that India’s barbarism in Kashmir has reached to extreme heights.

The speakers of other rallies said Kashmir was an incomplete agenda of sub-continent’s partition, the tension between Pakistan and India would never end until the Kashmir issue was resolved. They said the Issue would never be resolved until the Pakistani government and Kashmir Committee raise it sincerely at the international level. The United Nations (UN) was also asked to ensure implementation of its resolutions, acknowledging the right of self-determination of the people of Kashmir.
