Rally demands district status for Shahdadkot

LARKANA:The raise the demand of making Shahdadkot a separate district, a group of the residents of Sijawal Junejo staged a rally on Sunday at Village Sijawal Junejo.

The rally after marching one kilometer reached the Ratodero-Khuzdar National Highway where the participants staged a large sit-in, blocking traffic for two hours.

The protesters holding placards and banners chanted slogans.

They were joined by residents of other villages including Bahadur Bhand, Arzi Bhutto and Kot Lal Bux Mahesar.

Addressing the protesters PTI leader Gaibi Khan Mugheri said that Sijawal Junejo was made taluka but it remained neglected and people are facing various issues.

Haji Sardar Ali Jarwar said that Kambar-Shahdadkot was made district on political grounds in 2004 but Shahdadkot received no development.

Another PTI leader Musarat Shah said we do not want politics but a change here. He said provision of fundamental rights to citizens is the prime duty of government.

GDA leader Muzafar Brohi said that Sijawal is very unfortunate tehsil because it’s town committee was converted into union council. He said clean drinking water is not available in the town, salaries of sanitation staff have been stopped.

He said if Shahdadkot is made a district then these issues will be greatly resolved.

Hubdar Mirjat, Wahab Pindrani, Altaf Soomro, Ghani Mujahid, Talib Soomro and others also spoke.
