SAPM: (Govt committed to protect women’s rights: Dr Firdous)

ISLAMABAD:Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the government is committed to protect women’s constitutional, legal, political, social and economic rights.

In a tweet on Thursday, she said the incumbent government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, is opposed to every sort of exploitation of women.

She said the steps ranging from inheritance rights of women to passage of Zainab Alert Bill show the government’s strong commitment and thinking for women rights.

She said disrespect to women at the media or any other forum is condemnable. She said an incident occurred about it at a television channel is regrettable. She said the media should be more responsible in such sensitive matters.
