SAPM: (Rs250m released for development schemes in Islamabad: Ali Nawaz)

ISLAMABAD:Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Capital Development Authority Affairs Ali Nawaz Awan has said that federal cabinet has decided to release Rs250 million for various development projects in Islamabad.

Addressing a news conference here on Sunday, he said the administration will start working efficiently in horticulture, sanitation and environmental sectors of the city from Monday.

Ali Nawaz Awan said government is making all out efforts to resolve water, sanitation and garbage related issues.

He said three pedestrian bridges will be constructed in the federal capital to facilitate general public. He said 7,000 vacant posts in schools will be fulfilled on merit to overcome shortage of teaching and support staff in the educational institutions.

The Special Assistant said Islamabad’s hospitals will be upgraded to provide better health facilities to the residents of the federal capital. He said efforts are also being made to reserve quota for the local citizens of the Islamabad Capital Territory in all government departments.
