SC halts merger of Summit, Sindh Bank

KARACHI: The Supreme Court on Saturday halted the merger of the Sindh Bank and the Summit Bank and sought comments from the State Bank of Pakistan governor in this regard.

Hearing a case at its Karachi registry, the bench headed by the Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar remarked that the merger cannot be take place until the court’s directives.

Directing the administrations of the Sindh Bank and the Summit Bank to place before their balance sheets, the court put off the hearing.
