SC rejects Tajir Ittehad’s plea for alternate places

KARACHI:Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) Karachi Registry on Wednesday rejected the plea of Tajir Ittehad against demolishing of illegal markets and seeking alternate places for affected people.

A bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar was hearing a plea filed by Tajir Ittehad’s president Hakeem Shah. He appeared before the apex court.

Shah stated before the court that their markets were being demolished, and they should be given alternate places.

The CJP lashed out at Tajir Ittehad president and remarked that you had occupied land illegally and now you are demanding for alternate places.

CJP remarked that could you attempt like this in Washington, New York and London? You have no such right according to our point of view, he said

CJP said going to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) for a fair dealing after occupying its land lands is bad practice. ’’Do we not live in civilised society,’’ CJP asked.
