Karachi:Ms. Nuzhat Shirin, Chairperson, Sindh Commission on the Status of Women (SCSW) here Saturday paid a surprise visit to the Women police station Saddar Karachi and expressed annoyance on lack of facilities’ there.
Nuzhat Shirin accompanied by Nadeem A Sheikh of Justice Helpline, Saleem Michael Advocate, Haris Ameen Bhatti and other members of SCSW inspected the Roznamicha and other record of the police station. She regretted that only 10 staffers are posted in this crucial police station. She said she would talk to the authorities concerned to increase the strength of the women police station and provide it due facilities.
She on the occasion met with a nurse, who had faced harassment and assured full legal help to her. She said she would also pay surprise visit the JPMC and other hospitals and ensure that there is zero tolerance towards the incidents of harassment of nurses.
