Sindh Food Authority seizes two water plants

LARKANA: A Sindh Food Authority (SFA) team conducted raids in Sindh Small Industries area and Waleed Muhalla and sealed two water plants namely Muskan Water Plant and Ajwa Water Plant, here on Saturday.

It also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000. The team was led by Safety Officer Wasim Shaikh. He told newsmen that there was neither any laboratory for water testing nor any record is maintained by the plant owners.

He said the owners had also no medical certificates of the labourers working there due to which both plants were sealed and they were also imposed fine of Rs 50,000. He said water samples had been obtained which had also been sent for further analysis to a laboratory. After receipt of detailed report, further action will be taken against the owners, he added.
