ISLAMABAD:According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, only 4% of Pakistanis disagree with the idea that it is mandatory on children to look after their parents.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “Please tell us how much you agree or disagree with the statement that it is mandatory on children to look after their parents?”

In response to this question, 66% said that they agreed completely, 13% said that they agreed to an extent, 16% said that they neither agreed not disagreed, 4% disagreed, 0% completely disagreed, while 1% did not know or did not wish to respond.

The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.

The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1142 men and women in urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during 24 January – 28 January, 2019.

The error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 percent at the 95% confidence level.
