Three commanders among 50 Baloch militants surrender

QUETTA:As many as 50 militants along with their three commanders from Balochistan announced entering into the national mainstream after surrendering arms to the security forces on Wednesday. A ceremony was held at Commissioner Office Quetta which was attended by Provincial Home Minister Mir Zia Ullah Langove, government dignitaries, security forces, militants and a large number of civil society people. All the surrendered militants, including three commanders previously were linked with different militants groups such as Baloch Republican Army (BRA), Baloch National Movement (BNM), and and other separatist organizations.

On this occasion, the militants who surrendered vowed to end violence and not to fight against the country in future, despite they pledged to the nation that they will work for the betterment and progress of the country. The militant commanders requested other militants to lay down their arms and work for the development of the country and also thanked the government for allowing them to rejoin society. Addressing to the ceremony, Home Minister Mir Zia Ullah Langove said “These people were in fact misled by the anti-state elements who are being funded by foreign spy agencies, adding that they have now pledged to lead a good life as true Pakistanis.” The surrendered militants were presented national flags and other gifts during the ceremony.
