Two killed in armed attack at Lahore airport

LAHORE:Two persons were killed in an armed attack at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore on Wednesday.

According to Superintendent Police (SP) Safdar Raza Qazmi, armed men opened fire at two passengers, Zain and Nafees Khan, who reached at the airport after performing Umra. As a result, they suffered severe bullet injuries and died on the spot.

Airport Security Forces personnel took the suspect into custody from the airport. Police said that the suspect reached the airport in a taxi.

The firing within the airport lounge caused panic among people. Heavy contingent of police and rangers reached the airport to secure the premises. The entry of vehicles at the airport was barred as a precaution. Police said the incident was a result of personal enmity.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar took notice of the firing incident and sought a report from RPO Lahore. The chief minister expressed grief and sorrow over the death of the precious lives and sought detailed inquiry report form authorities.
