Two villagers shot dead by rival tribesmen

SHIKARPUR:Two villagers belonging to Marfani tribe were gunned down by their enemy group men of Qambrani tribe on Saturday within the jurisdiction of Dilawar Marfani police station near Garhiyaseen.

According to a report, two villagers identified as Jiggar Marfani and Allah Bux Marfani of village Muhammad Nawaz Marfani were shot dead by some group of armed men belonging to Qambrani tribe when they were working in their field near their village.

The attackers, after firing, escaped. The cause of incident was said to be an old dispute over the ownership of agricultural land since last some years. The bodies were handed over to their relatives after conducting the postmortem examination from Taluka Hospital Garhiyaseen.

Over 200 persons of both the rival parties have been killed in their armed clashes so far.

It may be recalled that about four times their Jirgas were held under the supervision of Mir Manzoor Khan Panhwar and other Chieftains of Qambrani and Marfani tribes to settle their ongoing tribal disputes, but the tribal dispute between the two tribes could still not be settled. No FIR could be registered till this news was flashed.
