Karachi:British High Commissioner to Pakistan Dr. Christian Turner met Governor Sindh Imran Ismail at Governor House Monday. British Deputy High Commissioner Mike Nithavrianakis was also present on the occasion. Bilateral relations, economic cooperation, investment opportunities and other matters of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.
Governor Sindh while appreciating British decision on Travel Advisory for its citizens said that this step would further enhance mutual relations. The expansion of Pak-British economic relations was in the larger interest of both the countries, he observed.
Imran Ismail said that Pak-British relations are many decades long and by the passage of time the ties between two countries are strengthening. Lauding the role of British High Commission in promoting bilateral relations, Governor Sindh said that exchange of delegations in various fields would further strengthen these ties.
British High Commissioner Dr. Christian Turner said that the decision with regards to travel advisory for Pakistan is the proof of improvement of law and order situation here.
Meanwhile, Ambassador of Germany to Pakistan Bernhard Schlagheck also called on Governor Sindh at Governor House here today. German Consul General at Karachi Eugen Wollfarth was also present on the occasion.
Governor Sindh said on this occasion that Pak-German ties are based on mutual trust, respect and common interests which are being cemented by every passing moment.
He said that there was very conducive environment of investment in the fields of energy, education, health, infrastructure development and agriculture. The German investment would be welcomed in these sectors, he added.
He said that Government would provide every facility to investors who plan to initiate various projects in the province. German Ambassador Bernhard Schlagheck while appreciating investment opportunities said that the relations both countries were improving with every passing day.
