USAID donates Rs188.6m cleanliness apparatus

JACOBABAD:USAID has donated different vehicles to Municipal Committee, Jacobabad, worth Rs 188.617 million on Saturday.

In this connection, a ceremony was held which was participated by Michael Hryshchyshyn, Director, Engineering, USAID and Naheed Shah Durrani, Chairman, Planning and Development Board, Sindh, among others. The 88 vehicles to be used for cleanliness included loader trucks, 136 large dust bins, mechanical sweepers, mini dumpers, side skate loaders and Chingchi rickshaws for shifting garbage.

The USAID Director said after inauguration of this program he will come again to provide safe drinking water to the residents of Jacobabad. He said second phase of the program is to maintain cleanliness in Jacobabad after providing them required vehicles and third phase will be of provision of safe sweet drinking water to the citizens. He said that people of America have special interest in increasing friendly relationship with the people of Pakistan and they want to see them prosperous and progressing in every sphere of life.

Naheed Shah Durrani said that people of Jacobabad should now fully cooperate with the municipal committee staff to keep the city neat and clean after supply of latest cleanliness equipment which is not available in other districts. Director, PandD Mustafa Jamal Qazi also addressed the gathering.

Jacobabad Deputy Commissioner Ghazanfar Ali Qadri said that these machines will work more with less human resources which will also save time and it will bring revolutionary changes. He said Jacobabad is a very historical city of Sindh where many historical buildings are still available.
