Water shortage jeopardizes Dadu’s citizens

DADU:Many parts of Dadu city are facing acute drinking water shortage due to utter negligence of relevant authorities.

The elected representatives feel no responsibility to resolve this issue timely despite repeated appeals. There is demand of water due to heatwave, but there is no one who could resolve this vital issue of life survival.

The citizens in many areas of the city have been compelled to either bring water to their homes by moving several kilometers or buy it at heavy prices. Private water plants have been installed in the city, which are selling water at exorbitant rates.

The poor people cannot afford purchasing water at heavy price. The Sindh and district governments have still not taken any solid steps to resolve the issue so that people could take a sigh of relief.

Dadu is the capital city of Sindh province’ Dadu district. It is located on the western bank of Indus River. Despite its establishment near Indus River, Dadu faces acute water shortage time and again, which shows that that the authorities have ignored it knowingly. Dadu city is one of the warmest cities of Sindh, therefore, it needs smooth water supply in summer so that people could pass their life without any trouble.

The government needs to come out from slumber and take solid and permanent measure to resolve the issue on priority basis as water is lifeline for the citizen.
