Kotri SITE’s two lac people hit by water scarcity

HYDERABAD:Water shortage in Kotri SITE area has badly affected two lakh people as tankers mafia and bottled water sale have been given free hand to loot people with both hands despite prevalent price hike era.

The government and city authorities have failed to provide drinking water to the citizens and compelled them to purchase water at exorbitant rates. Water borne diseases have emerged in the area as tanker water is not safe.

The provision of safe drinking water is a primary source for human health, but here, political leaders do not care of it. The elected representatives feel no responsibility to resolve water issue that is hitting citizens hard in warm weather.

The people have been compelled to either bring water to their homes by moving several kilometers or buy it at heavy prices. The villagers, already hit hard by price hike, have been forced to purchase water at heavy cost, which is affecting their routine economy. The water shortage has badly affected social and business life as the political leaders have adopted lull over the issue. It seems that they have no responsibility in this regard.

The demand of the water has risen sharply due to heat wave in the region, but the Sindh and district governments have still not taken any solid step to resolve the issue so that people could take a sigh of relief. The people of the area have demanded of the Sindh government to take notice of the issue and resolve it with immediate effect.
