Woman, daughter killed in road accident

KHAIRPUR: A woman and her daughter wer killed in road accident near here on Saturday.

As per details, a pickup loaded with bananas overturned on a motorcycle near Sui Gas bus stop on the Mehran national highway at Kumb.

As a result, one Razia Bibi and her ten years old daughter Aisha died on the spot while Razia’s husband Fakeer Hussain was injured seriously.

The bodies shifted to their village Tando Mir Ali after medico-legal formalities at Thari Mirwah hospital while the injured was referred to the civil hospital Khairpur for treatment.

During last 24 hours in different road accidents four people had died while more than 50 other hurt in Kumb and its surrounding areas.

However, Deputy Commissioner Khairpur Abdul Fattah Hulio, taking notice of the increased road accidents paid a surprise visit to taluka hospital Kotdiji, rural health center Ranipur and rural health center Kumb on Saturday.

He checked the record of patients and staff and expressed concern over the lak of facilities and absences of staff. He asked the PPHI representative and DHO Khairpur to provide better facilities to rural people.

However, when one journalist asked from him that why the medical store of the rural health center was converted into poultry farm, the DC remained silent.
