Workshop on role of religious scholars

Quetta:A three-day training workshop under the aegis of Idara-e-Amn O Taleem, Islamabad under the title “Role of religious scholars in spreading Democratic Norms and Democracy” was held. It was attended by teachers of different seminaries, religious leaders, Imams and Khateebs of different mosques.

Training on various topics such democracy, its basic elements and institutions, important democratic principles, Islam and democracy, Islamic concept of the constitution of Pakistan, international law and treaties, basic human rights, and importance of vote were imparted. Sardar Babar Khan Musakhail was the Chief Guest of the closing ceremony of the workshop. In his speech, he urged ulemas to play their role in promoting lofty principles and in providing training to the masses. Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan Allama Abdul Haq Hashmi, President, Jamaiat Ulema Pakistan Allama Abdul Qudoos Sasooli, Senior Journalist Shehzada Zulfiqar, writer and intellectual Rahat Malik, Assistant Professor Mufti Sanaullah and Mufti Suhab Naimat also thoroughly discussed different topics. Host of the function, renowned religious scholar and Head of SBDF Alla-ud-Din Sarang thanked the guests. Deputy Speaker Balochistan Provincial Assembly Sardar Babar Musakhail and opposition leader Malik Sikandar Advocate distributed certificates. Participants of the gathering praised the initiative and lauded the organizers to have arranged such a magnificent training workshop.

Delegation of the religious scholars also visited Balochistan Provincial Assembly where leader of opposition Malik Sikandar Advocate apprised the delegation of the importance of vote. Malik Sikandar Advocate said that that vote was a trust in Islam through which genuine leadership could be elected to solve our problems adding that without realizing the importance of vote, no improvement was possible.
