1306 arrested for violating Section 144 in Larkana division

LARKANA:As many as 1306 people have been arrested and 300 cases lodged against them in five districts of Larkana police range for violating Section 144 imposed to save citizens from coronavirus infection, police said Monday.

Deputy Inspector General of Police, Larkana Range said in a statement that 27 cases were registered in Larkana district and 156 persons were arrested. In Kambar-Shahdadkot district, 153 cases were lodged and 570 people were arrested.

The statement said 133 people were arrested and 28 FIRs were registered in Shikarpur district while 35 FIRs were registered in Jacobabad and 125 people were put behind the bars. It said that 322 people were arrested and 57 cases were registered in Kandhkot @ Kashmore district.

The statement further claimed that after surfacing of more local transmission COVID-19 positive cases in Sindh, lockdown has further been tightened and enforced so that people remain home along with their near and dear ones. DIGP Irfan Baloch has urged the residents of Larkana division not to go out of their houses unnecessarily except emergency or to procure groceries, vegetables, meat and help the police to save precious lives.
