According to the annual performance report of Khairpur Police, it engaged in 161 encounters during 2025, resulting in the deaths of seven alleged dacoits and the arrest of over 400 individuals wanted in serious criminal cases.
It was reported on the last day of the year that among the suspects apprehended during these operations, 56 were arrested in an injured state. In the same period, another nine criminals voluntarily surrendered to the authorities.
Focusing on violent crimes, law enforcement agencies successfully prevented five potential incidents of honor killing, saving women from being murdered over allegations of “Siyah Kari” (Karo-kari). Separately, authorities arrested 270 main suspects involved in murder cases.
The report also highlighted the role of technology in crime prevention, stating that police intervened and foiled eight kidnapping attempts where perpetrators used a woman’s voice as a lure. In other community-based actions, authorities located four missing children and safely reunited them with their families.
Throughout the year, several organized gangs involved in robbery, theft, and kidnapping for ransom were dismantled through special operations. A large quantity of weapons and stolen goods were recovered from the accused and returned to their rightful owners.
