18.67 billion rupees allocated to empower schools in the Sindh budget

As a significant initiative to strengthen the educational framework, the Sindh government has allocated 18.67 billion rupees for a specific budget for schools, announced today by Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah during the budget session in the Sindh Assembly.

This amount has been allocated to empower educational institutions across the province. The minister stated that out of forty thousand schools in Sindh, thirty-four thousand have been designated as cost centers, which is a significant step towards giving schools more autonomy in resource management.

The purpose of this initiative is to address the disparities in funding and resources among schools, ensuring a more equitable distribution of financial support. This strategy is expected to improve the quality of education and infrastructure facilities, ultimately benefiting both students and teachers.

The decision to make most schools cost centers reflects a broader commitment to improving the educational landscape in Sindh, creating an environment where schools can meet their specific needs with autonomy.

Relevant individuals in the education sector have welcomed this announcement, viewing it as a positive development that can lead to significant improvements in educational outcomes. The focus is now on the effective implementation and utilization of these funds to maximize their impact on the province’s educational system.
