19 killed, 15 injured as bus plunges in ravine near Zhob

ZHOB: At least 19 people were killed and 15 others injured, most of them seriously, when a bus fell into a ravine near Zhob area of Balochistan on Sunday.

According to police, a bus was on its way to Quetta from Islamabad when it skidded off the road during rainfall and fell into a ravine near Zhob after its driver lost control over the steering due to over speeding. As a result, 19 people were killed and 15 others injured.

On information police and rescue teams rushed to the scene and shifted the bodies and injured to Zhob and Mughal Kot hospitals, where emergency was declared. Sherani Assistant Commissioner Mehtab Shah said the incident occurred near Dana Sar area. He said that the bus plunged into the ravine due to speeding. He directed hospital staff to ensure proper medical care of injured person.

Medical superintendent of Civil Hospital Zhob, Dr Noorul Haq, said that the most of the injured brought to the hospital were in critical condition. He also said that the death toll might rise. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the accident near Zhob in Balochistan province.
