The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), acting on a tip-off from the U.S. Embassy, arrested two members of a human smuggling gang on Sunday who allegedly attempted to illegally send a dozen people to the United States on fake documents.
Officials from the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in the capital confirmed the arrests of Tahir Shehbaz and Rabnawaz. The suspects are believed to be part of a larger, organized gang specializing in visa fraud and migrant smuggling.
According to the agency, the two suspects had orchestrated an elaborate scheme to create fake documents for 12 individuals, aiming to facilitate their illegal entry into the United States before the plan was thwarted by authorities.
