2 suspected robbers killed, 41 arrested across Karachi last week during anti-crime drive

Two suspected robbers were killed and 41 others were arrested, including 28 in an injured condition, after 28 separate police encounters across Karachi during the past week.

According to a statement issued today by the Karachi Police spokesperson, on the orders of Additional IG Karachi Azad Khan, a total of more than 896 individuals were taken into custody from the East, West, and South zones during operations conducted against crime across the city.

During the armed encounters, authorities seized 33 illegal weapons of various types from the arrested suspects. The total number of illegal weapons recovered during the week-long campaign exceeded 93, which includes ammunition used in robberies and other criminal activities.

In a crackdown against narcotics, law enforcement agencies recovered a large quantity of illegal substances. The recovered items include over 31 kilograms of charas and over 1.6 kilograms of ice, crystal, and heroin, with an estimated value of millions of rupees.

As a result of these operations, numerous stolen vehicles were also recovered. A total of 31 snatched or stolen motorcycles and one other vehicle were recovered from various areas. Additionally, one car and 12 motorcycles were specifically recovered from the suspects arrested after the encounters.

The spokesperson confirmed that the Karachi Police’s efforts to combat crime, restore law and order, and protect the public will continue.
