Various accidents and incidents claimed the lives of 7 people on Sunday in Naushero Feroze.
In a recent highway incident near Halani, Gulab Hotel, a high-speed trailer and a Cultus car collided forcefully, severely injuring two occupants of the car, who were reportedly from Gumbat city. Local residents and rescue teams immediately transported the injured to a nearby hospital, while the wreckage temporarily disrupted traffic flow.
Citizens have long complained that inadequate traffic management and a lack of safety measures on the national highway have made accidents a routine occurrence. Local residents state that numerous precious lives have been lost, following which urgent action, completion of road repairs, and implementation of robust safety protocols have been demanded from the relevant authorities.
Apart from the highway, the district also faced several other fatal incidents, in which four lives were lost under various tragic circumstances.
Two separate railway incidents occurred: Muhammad Imran, a resident of Multan, reportedly succumbed to his injuries after falling from the Hazara Express near Bharyaroad Railway Station. In another incident, Waqar Ahmed Abbasi, a nursing officer from Khairpur, died on the spot after slipping while boarding the Sukkur Express at Mehrabpur Railway Station.
On New Jatoi Link Road, a young motorcyclist, Zohaib Mashoori, died on the spot in a road accident when a speeding passenger van forcefully collided with his vehicle. The van driver reportedly fled the scene. After necessary proceedings, the police handed over the bodies of all three victims to their respective families.
Adding to the grief of the area, Lala Usman Kumboh, son of Abdul Khaliq Kumboh, tragically passed away reportedly due to a heart attack on his mehndi night in Mehrabpur Kumboh Colony. This sudden death transformed a house filled with wedding preparations into a scene of deep mourning, with a large number of citizens attending his funeral prayers.
In further incidents, three-year-old Zakaria, son of Raja Khaskheli, drowned in a pond near his home in Mula Mohalla, Bharya city. His body was recovered by the family and locals, and doctors confirmed his death at the hospital, causing deep sorrow and fainting spells to his mother upon the body’s return home.
Separately, police discovered the body of a young man from a house in Moro Fruit Mandi, identified as Jani Hub. His family has reportedly suspected murder and demanded a transparent investigation to uncover the truth and ensure justice. Police have stated that the full facts will emerge after the post-mortem report, and the body was subsequently handed over to relatives.
