SHIKARPUR:Twenty more local transmissions of coronavirus cases were confirmed in Shikarpur district within the last 24 hours.
According to a report on Thursday, 72 samples were collected one day back out of which 20 were tested positive. The newly infected people include seven women, four children and nine men.
The local transmission cases toll has hit 238 till today since the outbreak of the disease while 13 more cases are from Tableeghi Jamaat. It may be noted that a large number of citizens are unaware of their status regarding COVID-19. The affected citizens could be more than the disclosed numbers due to limited tests.
A heavy rush of people was seen busy at shopping centers of the city for Eid purchasing amid no social distancing. Bazaars and shops are running without any fear of COVID-19 and are not following SOPs declared by the Sindh government.
