Demos in Islamabad, Muzaffarabad against Indian aggression on LoC

Islamabad, November 14, 2020 (PPI-OT): A protest demonstration was held outside the National Press Club in Islamabad under the auspices of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, today. The demonstration was held against the unprovoked shelling by the Indian Army on the civilian population of Azad Jammu and Kashmir living along the Line of Control (LoC).

A large number of APHC-AJK representatives participated in the protest. The demonstrators raised full-throated slogans such as “Kashmir banega Pakistan”, “Go India, go back”, “Terrorist, terrorist, India terrorist”, “Ham kia chahtay Azaadi”. They appealed to the world community to play its role in stopping the Indian brutalities in IIOJK. The international community must raise its voice against the atrocities of Modi government on the Kashmiris who should be given their birth right to self-determination as per the UN resolutions.

The speakers included Ishtiyaq Hameed, Advocate Pervez Ahmed, Shamim Shawl, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Haji Sultan Butt, Abdul Majeed Mir, Raja Khadim Hussain, Engineer Mahmood, Manzoor-ul-Haq Butt, Zahid Safi, Javaid Iqbal Butt, Hassan Al-Bana, Saleem Haroon, Zahid Ashraf, Mushtaq Butt, Mushtaq Gilani and Imtiaz Wani.

He was addressing a joint news conference along with Director General of Inter Services Public Relations Major General Babar Iftikhar, in Islamabad today (Saturday).

He said India is also not sparing any opportunity to destabilize Pakistan on the economic front, which is evident with the fact that New Delhi tried its best to push Islamabad to the black list of Financial Action Task Force during FATF’s preliminary meeting at a time when the entire world was appreciating Pakistan to curb terrorism.

He said we have concrete evidence that India has planned to upscale terrorism in Pakistan in coming days for which its intelligence agencies and its terrorist collaborators have held four meetings for the purpose. Shah Mahmood Qureshi said we have prepared a dossier to expose subversive activities of Indian agencies before the nation and the international community. He said India has provided funding worth 22 billion rupees to terrorist organizations in last three years.

India prevents former IIOJK MLA from traveling abroad

New Delhi, November 14, 2020 (PPI-OT): Indian immigration authorities prevented a former member of the so-called Legislative Assembly of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Altaf Ahmed Kaloo, from traveling to the United Arab Emirates, to attend a family function.

Altaf Kaloo, who belongs to the pro-India party National Conference told media that the authorities at New Delhi’s International Airport did not allow him to board the flight even after he and about one dozen family members were issued boarding passes.

He said that the immigration officials held him up in a room for three hours and didn’t cite any clear reason. Finally, they said I was one of 38 persons who cannot travel abroad till March 2021, he said.

“This was the first wedding in my immediate family. In Kashmiri tradition, a paternal uncle’s presence at a niece’s wedding is very important. I am very disturbed,” according to Kaloo, who said his wife, three children, and other relatives were allowed to board the plane to Dubai.

National Conference in a statement termed the move as an “infringement of one’s basic civil liberties”. “Former elected representatives are being treated like criminals and are having basic freedoms denied to them simply because they hail from Kashmir,” it said.

It is to mention here that several Kashmiris have been prevented from traveling abroad since August 05, 2019, when Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government repealed the special status of IIOJK and placed it under military siege. Noted journalist, Gowhar Geelani, was prevented from going to Germany in September last year and former bureaucrat turned politician Shah Faesal was stopped from overseas travel on August 15, 2019.
