Board Meeting in Progress of The Searle Company Limited

Karachi, The Searle Company Limited informed Pakistan Stock Exchange that a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Company scheduled to be held on January 12, 2021 at Karachi to consider the approval of the allotment of right share is in progress.

The Searle Company Limited formerly Searle Pakistan Limited is a company incorporated in Pakistan as a private limited company in October 1965. In November 1993, the Company was converted to a public limited company. The company is principally engaged in the manufacture of pharmaceutical products and a low calorie sweetener. It is also engaged in sale of food and consumer items and manufacture of pharmaceutical items for other companies. The stocks of the company are quoted on the Karachi and Islamabad stock exchanges of Pakistan. The registered office of the Company is located at Karachi.

The company is a subsidiary of International Brands Private Limited. It is the holding company of IBL HealthCare Limited due to significant representation in Board of Directors and 50% shareholding. The wholly owned subsidiaries of the company are namely Searle Laboratories Private Limited, Searle Pharmaceuticals Private Limited and Searle Biosciences Private Limited. The company is engaged in production of Aldactone, Lomotil, Diodoquin, Ovulen, Neomycin Sulphate, Probanthine, Hydryllin etc.

The symbol “SEARL” is being used by the stock exchanges for the shares of The Searle Company Limited.

Board Meeting in Progress of Mirpurkhas Sugar Mills Limited

Karachi, Mirpurkhas Sugar Mills Limited informed Pakistan Stock Exchange that a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Company scheduled to be held on January 12, 2021 at Karachi to consider matters other than financial results is in progress.

Mirpurkhas Sugar Mills Limited is a Public Limited Company, was established in 1964, its principal activity is manufacturing and selling of sugar. It is located about 300 km from the port city of Karachi, in Mirpurkhas and is listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited. The Company has a crushing capacity of 7,500 tons per day and is one of the most efficient sugar mills in Pakistan. Moreover, it is involved in development of higher yield sugarcane varieties on its 1,300 acre experimental farms.

The symbol “MIRKS” is being used by the stock exchanges for the shares of Mirpurkhas Sugar Mills Limited.

Board Meeting other than Financial Result of Shahtaj Textile Limited

Karachi, Shahtaj Textile Limited informed Pakistan Stock Exchange that board of directors meeting of the company will be held on January 11, 2021, Mr. Muneer Nawaz is elected as Chairman of Board of Directors and Mr. M. Naeem is re-appointed as Chief Executive of the Company with effect from January 01, 2021 for a period of three years. Board also constituted Audit and Human Resource and Remuneration Committees of the Board for the tenure 2021-2023.

Shahtaj Textile Limited is a company incorporated in Pakistan on January 24, 1990. It is a public limited company the foundations of which are laid under the Companies Ordinance, 1984. The principal business activity of the company includes the manufacture and sale of textile goods. The shares of the company are quoted on Karachi and Lahore Stock Exchanges of Pakistan. The registered office of  the company is located at Lahore. The manufacturing facility of the company is located in Lahore, Distt. Kasur Karachi.

TPL Trakker to power Precise Navigation Solution for Telenor customers via MyTelenor App

LCCI for uninterrupted power supply to the industry

Lahore, January 12, 2021 (PPI-OT): The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry while calling for uninterrupted electricity supply to the industrial sector, has urged the government to up-grade transmission and distribution system to ensure continuous electricity supply. In a statement on Monday, the LCCI President Mian Tariq Misbah, Senior Vice President Nasir Hameed Khan and Vice President Tahir Manzoor Chaudhry said that the countrywide electricity breakdown gave a big blow to the industrial sector and affected its production process. They said that repeated incidents of power failure in past have revealed weakness of power transmission and distribution system. They said that recent power failure has plunged country into darkness and situation can be further aggravated if steps on war footing are not taken.

They said that electricity is a basic ingredient for the industrial sector and is a must to keep the wheel of industry moving. They said that growth of local industry is a barometer of economy. The LCCI office-bearers said that it is a very good sign that government is well aware of the rising demand of electricity and working on a number of power projects days and nights but government should also be aware of the fact that existing power distribution system cannot bear the load of additional power.

They urged the government not to tolerate any laxity towards the up-gradation of power transmission and distribution system as any negligence could cause unbearable loss to the trade, industry and economy. They also urged the government to ensure early completion of ongoing power projects as it is not a must to keep the industrial wheel moving but economic growth is also linked with sufficient energy. The LCCI office-bearers said that the timely completion of hydropower projects is vital for the economy.

The LCCI office-bearers said that the government should share its energy plan with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Therefore, the government should understand the ground realities and reset its priorities power generation is concerned. They further stated that the consumers of the efficient distribution companies with lowest line losses and the highest recovery ratio are being treated fairly.

Office-bearers of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that promotion of alternate energy resources would definitely curtail the burden from conventional energy system therefore government should bring down duties and taxes on the equipment being used for power generation through alternate energy resources.

VIS Withdraws Entity Ratings of Rizwan Enterprises

Karachi, January 12, 2021 (PPI-OT): VIS Credit Rating Company Limited (VIS) has withdrawn the entity ratings of ‘A-/A-2’ (Single A/A-Two) assigned to Rizwan Enterprises (RE), with immediate effect, on account of non-renewal of rating contract. The previous rating action was announced on April 23, 2020.
