LARKANA: Two young girls reached Airport Police Station over a forced marriage issue and sought protection. They were later on shifted to the Women Police Station in Larkana on Sunday. They are residents of Ghulam Hussain Butt village of Dokri taluka.
Sakina daughter of Bahawal Solangi and Fazeela daughter of Munwar Ali Solangi told newsmen that their relatives wanted to marry them forcibly which was why they came out of their homes and reached the police station for protection adding they didn’t want to go to their homes now.
Their heirs also reached outside the Women police station but they were barred to meet the girls after which they staged a protest demo. The protesters Fareeda, Shamshad Khatoon Solangi and others said that their girls went to attend the circumcision ceremony of their relatives from where they reached the police station. They alleged that SHOs of Airport and Women police stations, Liaquat Khajar and Rahmat Abbasi respectively, have pressured their girls and have not allowed them to meet their loved ones.
They said we have been waiting outside the police station since morning but they have no mercy. They demanded removal and stern action against both SHOs. Women police station authorities told newsmen that both the girls will be produced before the court today (Monday).
