Two young girls reach police station for protection

LARKANA: Two young girls reached Airport Police Station over a forced marriage issue and sought protection. They were later on shifted to the Women Police Station in Larkana on Sunday. They are residents of Ghulam Hussain Butt village of Dokri taluka.

Sakina daughter of Bahawal Solangi and Fazeela daughter of Munwar Ali Solangi told newsmen that their relatives wanted to marry them forcibly which was why they came out of their homes and reached the police station for protection adding they didn’t want to go to their homes now.

Their heirs also reached outside the Women police station but they were barred to meet the girls after which they staged a protest demo. The protesters Fareeda, Shamshad Khatoon Solangi and others said that their girls went to attend the circumcision ceremony of their relatives from where they reached the police station. They alleged that SHOs of Airport and Women police stations, Liaquat Khajar and Rahmat Abbasi respectively, have pressured their girls and have not allowed them to meet their loved ones.

They said we have been waiting outside the police station since morning but they have no mercy. They demanded removal and stern action against both SHOs. Women police station authorities told newsmen that both the girls will be produced before the court today (Monday).

Balochistan Governor grieved at Begum Wali’s demise

QUETTA: Governor Balochistan, Justice (Retd) Amanullah Khan Yasinzai, and Chief Minister, Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan, have expressed heartfelt grief and sorrow over the sad demise of seasoned politician Bugum Naseem Wali Khan, former Provincial President, Awami National Party, and wife of Khan Abdul Wali Khan.

In their separate condolence messages, they said that the services of late Begum Wali rendered for democracy and promotion of democratic norms would be remembered forever. They said that her services for creating political consciousness and equal rights were also pivotal. They prayed to Almighty Allah to shower blessings on the departed soul and grant strength to the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude.

German company asked to give reasons about falling elevator

QUETTA: MD, Trauma Centre, Sandeman Provincial Hospital Quetta, has sought explanation from the contractor of German company about falling down of an Elevator in Trauma Centre of SPH, Quetta.

In a letter addressed to Contractor of German Company, Managing Director, Trauma Centre, Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Quetta, has sought explanation as to how the elevator installed in Trauma Centre, Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Quetta fell down.

Contractor has been asked to furnish detail of service and repair work of the elevator along with detailed information with regard to occupancy position and weight to be lifted by the mentioned Elevator. It has been stated that if clarification in this regard was not given, not only case would be lodged against the company concerned, but the said company would also be declared black listed.

It is pertinent to mention here that the elevator of Trauma Centre of SPH, Quetta fell down on May 13 at that time when a patient namely Waheed, injured in a road accident at Benazir Pull area of Quetta, was being shifted to ICU from Operation Theatre.

Young girl allegedly sexually assaulted in Larkana

LARKANA:A brother allegedly sexually assaulted his 14-year sister at home in Luhar Colony located within the limits of Hyderi police station, the victim’s mother said Sunday.

She started crying due to which he fled from the spot. On receipt of information, police reached the house, collected evidence and arrested the accused.

Majeedan Khatoon Korejo, mother of the victim, lodged FIR No. 41/2021 under Section 376 PPC while the affected girl was sent for medical checkup to Chandka Medical College Hospital.

Her mother told newsmen that her daughter Reema was asleep at home when her son Amin sexually assaulted her forcibly adding when she started crying she herself asked his wicked son to refrain from doing so but he didn’t and then fled. She appealed to DIGP and SSP Larkana to dispense justice by ensuring exemplary punishment to the accused. Police produced the accused in a court on Sunday which remanded him to police for three days.

41 covid samples taken after Bhambho Khan Village deaths

LARKANA: A team of doctors led by Director, Health Services, Larkana Region, Dr. Rustom Bhutto, visited Rais Bhambho Khan Chandio village in Kambar-Shahdadkot district and obtained 41 samples for COVID-19 PCR testing after reports that six people have died of the coronavirus in the village.

The team which also included District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. Iqbal Jagirani and others found that five persons including a woman had died in the same village which include Haji Fateh Mughmmad, 70 year with illness since a week, Haji Babu, 70 years. He was paralysed and was on bed rest for two years. Sain Rakhio, 70 years chronic liver disease and COPD, Muhammad Paryal, Cardiac disease with EF ratio 30% and Zuhra Chandio, COVID-19 positive. She was residing at Shaikh Zayed Colony, Larkana and remained admitted at ICU of Chandka Medical College Hospital but she was buried at her native village Bhambho Khan Chandio.

This was revealed in a letter written by the DHO Dr. Jagirani to Director General, Health Services, Sindh, Hyderabad and copies of which have also been sent to the Health Minister and Secretary.

He further wrote that deputy commissioner, assistant commissioner, Mukhtiarkar, Mirokhan also visited the village and monitored the sampling activity.

The DHO claimed that there was no active case in the village, however, samples of 41 villagers have been collected for COVID-19 testing adding deceased persons were not tested for COVID-19 virus as per the information provided to him by the notables of the village.

Both Dr. Bhutto and Dr. Jagirani were contacted to know as to how many positive cases have been detected out of 41 collected samples but they did not attend the calls.

Two drowned while enjoying picnic

BOLAN: Two persons, who went for picnic, drowned into the deep water of Pir Gaib on Sunday.

According to detail, two persons while bathing in the water of Pirgaib drowned. The victims, identified as Osama Javed and Asadullah, were recovered and shifted to a nearby hospital.

The bodies were handed over to heirs after fulfilling necessary medico-legal formalities. It is pertinent to mention that despite ban on picnic points in view of the threat posed by novel coronavirus, dozens of people came to Pir Gaib and other areas of Bolan for picnic.

Covid cases rise: Larkana village sealed for seven days

LARKANA: Deputy Commissioner, Kambar-Shahdadkot, has ordered sealing of Bhambho Khan Chandio village of Taluka Miro Khan on the recommendation of District Health Officer after observing “accelerated increase in positive cases of COVID-19 for seven days from 17th to 23rd May 2021.

The action was taken under section 3(3) of The Sindh Epidemic Diseases Act, 2014 in larger public interest and to prevent/slow down the spread of coronavirus”. A notification in this regard was issued on Sunday.

The Senior Superintendent of Police, Kambar-Shahdadkot and Wing Commander, Shahbaz Rangers, Larkana, have been requested to restrict movement of persons in these areas, ensure adherence of public to SOPs issued by the Home Department and take action against delinquents who are found violating the notification for proceeding under section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code and other relevant provisions in this regard. Medical stores, small grocery stores and truly essential services have however been exempted from this notification.

Copies of this notification have also been sent to higher Sindh Government authorities.

It must be remembered here that 41 coronavirus suspected persons’ samples were taken two days ago from the same village for PCR testing after media reports that six persons have died of the virus but DHO found five persons died out of whom only one woman was COVID-19 positive and she died in Chandka Hospital ICU in Larkana but was buried at her ancestral village Bhambho Khan Chandio.
