Levies force arrests proclaimed offender in Harnai

HARNAI: Levies force claimed to have arrested proclaimed offender in an operation in Harnai on Sunday.

On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Harnai, Suhail Anwar Hashmi, a levies force team, headed by Risaldar, arrested a proclaimed offender, Naseebulah, son of Duran Khan Marri, a resident of Kechyari Sunari, in the operation in Harnai.

The alleged accused was nominated in Case No. 09/2020 under section 337 ADF-147-148-149. Further investigation was underway by the levies force.

Man commits suicide in Quetta

QUETTA: A man committed suicide by shooting himself in Basti Panchayat area of Quetta on Sunday.

According to rescue sources, a person, Sharun, aged 40, son of Khalid Masih, a resident of Basti Panchayat shot himself dead in Basti Panchayat area of Quetta city.

The body was shifted to Sandeman Provincial Hospital Quetta and later handed over to heirs after fulfilment of necessary medico-legal formalities. The incident has created a mourning atmosphere in the victim’s house.

Balochistan to observe solidarity day with Palestinians on May 17

QUETTA: Balochistan government has announced to observe May 17 as Day of Solidarity with Palestinians.

The Home and Tribal Affairs Ministry said in a statement that the Provincial Government had decided to observe 17th May 2021 as the “Day of Solidarity with Palestinians throughout the province to signify political and moral support in their struggle for national self-determination and to honour Palestinians martyrs and condemn aggression against innocent Palestinians”.

Youth commits suicide after being annoyed with family

KHAIRPUR: A youth committed suicide by shooting himself in village Malhi Saheto near Khairpur on Sunday.

According to rescue sources, the youth, Misri Shaikh, shot himself to death with a pistol at his home in village Malhi Saheto. The cause behind the suicide was stated to be a domestic issue.

His body was brought to Civil Hospital Khairpur for an autopsy and later handed over to his heirs after completion of legal formalities. Police said the youth was angry with his parents and that way why he committed suicide, however, further investigation was underway.

Police claim arresting notorious criminal in encounter

KHAIRPUR: Mirpur Mathelo police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a notorious criminal in an encounter.

The police claim that they arrested notorious criminal Shah Baig Jagirani in injured condition in an encounter at Dad Laghari link road, however, his other accomplice fled.

The police said that the arrested criminal was wanted to Ghotki police in a number of crimes. They also claimed to have recovered weapons and other material from his possession. However, the relatives informed media that Shah Baig Jagirani was arrested five days ago and later injured in a fake encounter.

One killed, other injured over old Karo-Kari issue

CHAK RUSTAM: A man was killed and another injured over an old Karo-Kari issue in Chak Rustam on Sunday.

According to rescue sources, two groups of armed men belonging to Sad Khanani and Kamalani clans traded firing in Chak Rustam in which Irshad son of Mohammad Ashraf Umrani died while two others sustained injuries.

Area police rushed to the scene and controlled the situation. The body and injured were shifted to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities and treatment, respectively. Later, the body was handed over to his relatives. The cause behind the murder was stated to be an old enmity over Karo-Kari dispute developed between the two groups. No FIR could be registered till filing this news. However, the police have started a probe into the incident. Panic gripped the area as more bloodshed is feared.
