Indian troops killing innocent people on daily basis in IIOJK

Srinagar, August 01, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Employment Movement (JKEM), condemning violence in Shopian, Pulwama, Sopore, Kulgam, Bandipora, Srinagar and other areas, said that Indian troops were killing innocent people particularly youth on daily basis.

The JKEM spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar, deplored that the Indian troops were targeting innocent people during the cordon and search operations even in the Covid-19 pandemic. Paying rich tributes to the Kashmiri youth martyred by Indian troops during the last month of July, he said that the sacrifices of the Kashmiri youth would definitely bring fruit and the people of IIOJK would get rid of Indian subjugation.

The spokesman said that until Kashmir is not resolved according to the United Nations resolutions, permanent peace in South Asia could not be established. It is the misunderstanding of India that it would prevent the people of Kashmir from their just struggle for right to self-determination through the killing of innocent Kashmiris and other tactics of oppression, he added.

He urged India to give up its intransigence on Kashmir and resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people so that durable peace could be established in the entire South Asian region.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement expressed deep grief over the demise of the Abdul Rashid, brother of veteran activist Manzoor Ahmad. A party delegation from South Kashmir visited bereaved family and expressed condolences with Manzoor Ahmad and his family.

BCCI’s warnings to other boards over KPL draw massive criticism

Islamabad, August 01, 2021 (PPI-OT):The reports of Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) warnings to former international cricketers against taking part in the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) have sparked massive criticism in Pakistan. The first edition of the league is scheduled to commence from August 6 in Muzaffarabad. Reports emerged on late Friday that BCCI was coercing other boards to direct their players not to participate in the KPL. Former Pakistan cricket great Rashid Latif was the first to claim that BCCI was sending warnings to cricket boards over allowing their players to participate in KPL.

“The @BCCI is warning cricket boards that if their former players took part in Kashmir Premier League, they won’t be allowed entry in India or allowed to work in Indian cricket at any level or in any capacity. Gibbs, Dilshan, Monty Panesar and several others have been selected in KPL,” he said on his twitter handle.

Former South African cricketer Herschelle Gibbs on Saturday tweeted that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had warned him against featuring in the event. “Completely unnecessary of the @BCCI to bring their political agenda with Pakistan into the equation and trying to prevent me playing in the @kpl_20. Also threatening me saying they won’t allow me entry into India for any cricket related work. Ludicrous,” he said on twitter.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry, while commenting on the BCCI attitude, said that it was not the first time that the Modi’s government had sacrificed cricket for its damned politics. “The pressure on Herschelle Gibbs not to take part in the Kashmir [Premier] League is a continuation of this old practice. Such tactics would only benefit the Kashmir movement instead of weakening it,” he said on twitter.

Senator Dr Shehzad Waseem also took to twitter on the issue saying, “After decades of atrocities in Kashmir, India is now promoting its hatred and prejudice in sports as well. KPL is reality, it will happen and we are ready to welcome all our guests.”

The organizers of the event also confirmed that they had received news regarding Indian threats to foreign players. “We’ve received news from different sources that there were some problems with regard to our foreign players. We were also told by a couple of our foreign agents [that there were some issues]. They also sent us an email, which has the detail of [their] entire communication [with the foreign players],” Arif Malik, the chairman of KPL said in a video message.

The Chairman of Kashmir Committee, Shehryar Khan Afridi also strongly reacted to the Indian attitude and said India’s hegemonic designs were exposed again. “Indian @BCCI coerced Cricketers from England, South Africa, Sri Lanka to prevent them from playing@kpl_20. India also threatened players on their ‘safety’. This is worst case of politicisation of #Cricket after #BIG3 hijack of cricket,” he said on his twitter account.

Foreign office spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri on the development said India’s politicisation of cricket could not be condemned enough. “Depriving young Kashmiri players of the opportunity to share [a] dressing room with big names in cricket is unfortunate and regrettable,” he tweeted.

Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination Dr Fehmida Mirza while slamming India approach tweeted: “Sports should be above politics and should transcend borders. Sports will achieve peace and will promote local talent tourism. @hershybru (Herschelle Gibbs) should be allowed to play, hope some sense prevails.” Minister for Economic Affairs Omer Ayub Khan tweeted: “Modi’s fascist regime in India has completely lost it. Politicising Cricket. Blackmailing people. India should give freedom to the innocent people in IOK. In AJK, KPL will happen InshaAllah. People in AJK will enjoy cricket with freedom.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also expressed its displeasure over reports that the BCCI had called multiple ICC Members and forced them to withdraw their retired cricketers from the KPL. The PCB believes the BCCI has once again breached international norms and the spirit of the gentleman’s game by interfering in internal affairs of the ICC Members as the KPL has been approved by the PCB.

“The PCB considers that the BCCI has brought the game into disrepute by issuing warnings to multiple ICC Members to stop their retired cricketers from featuring in the Kashmir Premier League, further threatening they will not be allowed entry into India for cricket-related work.

“Such conduct from the BCCI is completely unacceptable, against the preamble of the Spirit of Cricket and sets a dangerous precedence, which can neither be tolerated nor ignored. “The PCB will raise this matter at the appropriate ICC forum and also reserves the right to take any further action that is available to us within the ICC charter,” the PCB said in a media statement.

Islamabad, August 01, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Jammu and Kashmir Young Men’s League and Jammu and Kashmir Students Youth Forum have urged the people in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir nation to observe August 5 as Black Day. Vice Chairman of Young Men’s League, Zahid Ashraf and the JKSYF Chairman, Manzoor Ahmed Bhatt in a joint statement strongly denounced the repeal of Kashmir’s special status by Modi-led fascist Indian government on August 5, 2019 in utter violation of the Security Council relevant resolutions and the International law.

Cruel, inhuman behaviour of Indian SSB, one Nepali disappears in Mahakali River

Kathmandu, August 01, 2021 (PPI-OT):One Nepali has disappeared after the Indian Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB) personnel cut down the Tuin rope through which the person was crossing the Mahakali River in Far West Nepal. According to District Police Office, Darchula, Inspector, Narendra Chand, Jaisingh Dhami, 35, of Byas Gaonpalika-2 went missing after falling from Tuin while crossing the Mahakali River on Friday, reports Kantipur daily.

According to the locals, after three locals crossed the Mahakali River from Tuin in the morning, two SSB personnel started to cut down Tuin when ill-fated Dhami was crossing the River and when he was about to reach the endpoint of the Twin, the rope fell to the River along with Dhami.

Dhami was heading towards Kathmandu seeking foreign employment job. Villagers are compelled to go to the Indian village across the Mahakali River to travel to Kathmandu and other parts of the country. According to local Nabin Dhami, Dhami was the fourth person attempting to cross the Mahakali River after three persons already crossed the river.

The SSB started to untie the knot of the Tuin rope when Dhami had left just 3/4 mitres to cross. Locals in the Nepal side of the river had shouted and requested the Indian SSB for not untying the knot of the Tuin rope but the Indian security personnel didn’t respond to locals’ request.

The ruling Nepali Congress party has condemned the incident, saying it as a sorrowful, inhuman and objectionable act. In a statement issued by Bishwaprakash Sharma, NC’s spokesman has asked to make public the truth and to hold talks with the Indian side on the issue.

BCCI urges ICC not to recognize KPL

New Delhi, August 01, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has urged the International Cricket Council (ICC) not to give formal recognition to the upcoming Kashmir Premier League (KPL 2021) which is being organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in Azad Kashmir.

Relations between the two boards generally follow on from the political atmosphere between the two nations. The two sides have not played each other in a bilateral series since 2012-13 or a Test match since 2007-08, though they do face off regularly in ICC events.

South African player Herschelle Gibbs had recently tweeted that BCCI had tried to prevent him from playing in the Kashmir Premier League as he allegedly received communication from the Indian board that if he participates in the KPL, he won’t be allowed to do any cricket related work in India.

Masood thanks MEPs for raising issue of rights abuses in IIOJK

Muzaffarabad, August 01, 2021 (PPI-OT):Welcoming the letter from the members of the European Parliament to the European Commission and the Foreign Minister of the European Union on the serious human rights situation in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, AJK President, Sardar Masood Khan said that India can no longer hide its crimes from the international community.

Commenting on a joint letter written by sixteen Members of European Parliament (MEPs) and send out to the President of the Commission Ursula Von Der Leyen and the Vice President of the Commission Josep Borrell, President Masood thanked the MEPs for their latest move to raise voice against the violations of human rights in occupied Kashmir.

The State President also commended the Chairman Kashmir Council, EU, Ali Raza Syed, and the role of the Pakistani and Kashmiri community in Europe for their effective campaign to highlight the Kashmir issue in Europe and European Parliament through their elected representatives. He said that the MEPs very rightly convey to the EU officials their grave concerns at the abuses of human rights and the state of fundamental freedoms in the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The President said that the fact is that the situation in IOJK is not just confined to human rights violations but systematic genocide is going on there as the 900,000 Indian troops are using their unbridled powers under black laws to commit war crimes and crimes against humanity.

He said young people in the occupied territory are being branded as terrorists, killed in fake encounters, injured, and maimed in the cordon and search operations. After August 2019, thousands of young people were arrested and locked up in various jails in IOJK and India.

He went on to say that the brutal incidents against men, women, and even children and senior citizens including the entire leadership in occupied Kashmir had been arrested and put behind bars for their only sin that they were demanding the right to self-determination.

The President of Azad Kashmir said that the people of occupied Kashmir have been under military siege for the last two years and their basic and civil rights have been taken away and now the situation is that India has illegally deported more than four million Hindus in the last year and India has launched a nefarious project to turn the majority of Muslims into a minority by settling non-Kashmiri Hindus in the occupied state.

President Masood appealed to the head of Kashmir Council EU, Syed Ali Raza, and the Kashmiri and Pakistani community to hold meetings, processions, and seminars on August 5, on completion of two years of the Indian government’s illegal actions in IOJK and condemn Indian actions and draw the attention of the international community towards the human rights situation in Occupied Kashmir.
