Modi has made India unsafe place for Muslims, other minorities

Islamabad, August 01, 2021 (PPI-OT):Fascist Narendra Modi has made India an unsafe place for Muslims and other minorities despite the fact that the country is home to some two hundred million Muslims, one of the world’s largest Muslim populations but a minority in the predominately Hindu country.

A report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, said, since India’s independence, Muslims have faced systematic discrimination, prejudice, and violence, despite constitutional protections. It deplored that Modi is shaping India’s policy according to Hindutva dictates and Muslims and other minorities are living in a perpetual state of fear in India. The RSS-backed Indian regime is on a mission to purge India of its minorities as ultimate dream of Modi is to make India a Hindu nation, it added.

The report said, Indian Muslims are being killed and tortured on the pretext of eating beef or transporting cattle. Citing experts, the report said that anti-Muslim sentiments have heightened under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has pursued a Hindu nationalist agenda since elected to power in 2014. Since Modi’s re-election in 2019, the government has pushed controversial policies that critics say explicitly ignore Muslims’ rights and are effectively intended to disenfranchise millions of Muslims. The moves have sparked protests in India and drawn international condemnation. It said, the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) report has found that religious freedom in India continued its negative trajectory in 2021

The report said, the global experts on genocidal violence have warned that India is preparing for genocide of Muslims in India and IIOJK. Genocide Watch, a global organisation dedicated to the prevention of genocide, has also issued an alert for occupied Kashmir. A ‘Genocide Watch’ warning is declared by the NGO when there are signs of the early stages of genocide in progress.

The report said, Indian forces are employing rape, torture, degrading treatment of Kashmiri women as instruments of state terrorism. The report said, anti-Kashmir moves and new citizenship law are glaring examples of BJP’s anti-Muslim acts, adding hate crimes against Muslims and other minorities have alarmingly increased in Modi’s India.

It said religious freedom in India has also taken drastic turn downward in Modi’s India as the BJP-led Indian regime is relentlessly implementing RSS ideology against minorities in India. The report urged the world rights bodies to come forward and save religious minorities in India. The global community must also take notice of Hindu fascism in India. It maintained.

Mehdi raises questions over ban lifting on Muharram processions

Srinagar, August 01, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference leader, Agha Ruhullah Mehdi has raised serious questions over the lifting of ban on annual Muharram processions after a gap of thirty years. Agha Ruhullah Mehdi, taking to Twitter, said that the isolated decision, which comes at a time when all religious gatherings across the Kashmir valley had been barred, raises more questions than it answers.

In a thread on his Twitter handle, Ruhullah Mehdi wrote, ”There is list of decisions-taken in circulation, in which, if my reading of this order is correct, the administration has decided to allow the 10th Muharram procession from Abiguzar to Lal Chowk after a gap of 30 years.”

Raising serious doubts over the intentions of the order, he further wrote, “This decision has come at the time when the administration has called off Amarnath yatra. Eid prayers this year were not allowed at Jama Masjid and other important places imposing the Disaster Management Act. Only a few days ago the IGP of Kashmir told people to celebrate Eid “at their homes” invoking Covid protocols. The Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid have not been allowed for the last more than 100 Fridays and continue to be banned, again invoking Covid protocols. The list goes on.”

Asking the administration to lift the curbs on religious gatherings across the Kashmir valley, he said, “To answer those questions and to make it clear that there are no nefarious designs behind this decision, this 10th Muharram procession should be preceded by Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid before this 10th Muharram. Friday prayers before this year’s 10th Muharram should precede. If the Friday prayers and other major religious functions (across all religions) continue to be banned and this particular procession is suddenly encouraged in isolation. In that case, I see nefarious designs behind it.”

Once again asking the people to stay cautious, he appealed, “The people should not fall for this bait and into this trap.” “Therefore the responsibility lies with the administration to come clean. Now that the time for Eid prayer this year has passed. Lift the ban on Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid too, like you suddenly took this decision and prove that there are no nefarious designs,” Ruhulla Mehdi tweeted.

DGHS confirms taking back 111 health facilities

LARKANA: The Sindh Government has finally decided to take back 111 Rural Health Centers and Taluka Headquarter Hospitals outsourced to Integrated Health Services (IHS) in 2016.

In this connection, the Director General, Health Services (SGHS), Sindh, Hyderabad, has directed District Health Officers (DHOs) of 20 districts of the province to take over health facilities from IHS. These DHOs have also been directed to depute a team of at least two senior officers not below the rank of BPS-19 to visit all government health facilities in their respective districts. They will prepare details of assets and submit to the DG office within five days through respective DHOs. This was confirmed by DGHS while talking with this Scribe on Sunday.

These districts include Hyderabad, Badin, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Matiari, Dadu, Jamshoro, Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar, Umarkot, Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah), Naushehro Feroze, Sanghar, Sukkur, Khairpur, Larkana, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kashmore and Kambar-Shahdadkot.

These health facilities were outsources to IHS under Public-Private Partnership for better management so that poor patients should not suffer but the poverty-stricken ailing people continued to face hardships and IHS failed to either properly manage or to improve the health care services despite enjoying billions of taxpayer’s hard earned money annually and provision of all the relevant doctors and paramedics who were drawing Health Department salaries. IHS also recruited its untrained people and according to complaints they mostly misbehaved with the visitors and manhandled them over petty issues and they also received late salaries without annual increments and other benefits as enjoyed by regular government servants.

Specialist cadre and post-graduate doctors were not employed to fulfill the requirements due to which indisposed persons had to run from one facility to another for proper diagnosis of their diseases. Medicines, equipment and instruments and diagnostic facilities were lacking and outdated machines were not replaced. Retired doctors were employed against lucrative salaries for OPD work but drugs were procured by the starved patients who were already facing massive price-hikes. As per reports, operation theaters remained mostly closed and emergency services were denied.

As many as 21 Rural Health Centers (RHCs) of the entire Larkana Division were handed over to IHS in 2016 but none of them worked professionally. Meanwhile, Dr. Rafiq-ul-Hassan Khokhar, General Secretary, Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Sindh, in a statement on Saturday, highly appreciated and welcomed the decision of the Sindh Government to take back the possession of Health Care facilities outsourced to IHS.

He said since many years PMA has been demanding the same including health facilities given to PPHI because “these organizations completely failed to deliver proper health care facilities to the patients”, adding “rather they have given a mega financial loss to Government of Sindh”, the statement added. He demanded to take over all leftover health care facilities including those given to PPHI immediately and their employees be merged in the Health Department. However, “the Health Department also needs cleanup operation and needs updated improvement”, the statement concluded.

Dr. Muhammad Sharif Pirzado, Medical Superintendent (MS), 100-Bed Government Hospital, Naundero, said that we fully support government decision of taking back all the health facilities outsourced to IHS because it stood banned in KPK. He said no orthopedic, eye, ENT surgeons were provided and gynecology, pediatrician and other essential post-graduate doctors facilities were denied to the people of Naundero to mention a few.

He said IHS could not even establish paeds ward despite availability of beds and casualty is working without air-conditioners in this hot weather. He said drugs from multinational companies were not supplied. He said Sindh Government should now properly manage these health facilities to reduce rush at Teaching Hospitals for which DDO powers should be given to the MSs along with required annual budget so that poor patients could be given better service.
