Alleged commander of banned ISIS killed in operation

MASTUNG:Security forces claimed to have killed Mumtaz Ahmed alias Palawan, an alleged commander of banned ISIS, Balochistan, in an intelligence based operation near Killi Mehrab area of district Mastung on Sunday.

According to CTD Quetta, Mumtaz alias Palawan, one of the important commanders of ISIS Balochistan, was killed in an intelligence based operation conducted by Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Quetta and secret agency in the garden of grapes near Killi Mehrab area of district Mastung.

According to CTD, Mumtaz Ahmed alias Palawan, with a Rs2.5 million on his head, was allegedly involved in killing Nawabzada Siraj Raisani, the brother of Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani, former Chief Minister, Balochistan, in a bomb blast in Dringar area of district Mastung. It is pertinent to mention here that more than 130 people, including Nawabzada Siraj Raisani, had been killed in Dringar blast.

Mother of 10 children killed over charge of ‘Kari’

BAQRANI:A husband strangulated his wife to death in village Hakeem Sandeelo near Larkana on Saturday.

Accused Mohammad Soomro, after accusing her wife Zeeba of being ‘Kari’, strangulated her to death in village Hakeem Sandeelo near Larkana. The accused fled to unknown destination after swift operation. The victim of the mother of 10 children.

The police shifted the body to a local hospital for an autopsy and later handed over to the heirs after conduction of the medico-legal formalities. A tense situation prevailed in the village. No arrest could be made till filing of the report.

Bandits kidnap man, demand Rs3 million ransom

GARHI YASEEN:Bandits have kidnapped a laborer near Garhi Yaseen town and demanded a ransom of Rs3 million for his release, heirs said Sunday.

Nadir Shar, the uncle of the kidnapped person, said that the laborer, Israr Shar, a resident of Nangar Shar village, district Shikarpur, went missing while going to Sukkur for labor work but there was no clue to his whereabouts so far.

He said that they had received calls from the kidnapped laborer’s mobile phone by the bandits who demanded Rs3 million ransom for his release. The parents have lodged a report with a local police station for recovery of the kidnapped laborer but there was no progress yet. They appealed to the IGP Sindh police and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to help in the recovery of the youth from the clutches of the bandits.

Nine-year girl die of electrocution

LARKANA:A nine-year-old girl Poona, daughter of Shaman Memon, died of electrocution outside her house in Suhail Colony here on Sunday.

Her relative Fida Hussain Memon said that she was playing outside the home when she was electrocuted from a passing live electricity line and then she fainted. Her relatives rushed her to the Emergency Department of the Chandka Medical College Hospital where duty doctors confirmed her death. After necessary formalities, her body was handed over to her heirs.

Levies force seizes 15kg hashish

KHUZDAR:Levies force Khuzdar claimed to have seized 15kg hashish, to be smuggled to Karachi, from a 2D vehicle in an operation conducted at Kasleti check post, Wadh on Sunday.

Following the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Khuzdar, Major (Retd) Bashir Ahmed and Assistant Commissioner, Wadh, Rehmat Murad Baloch, levies force, Wadh led by Naib Risaldar, levies force, Wadh, Abdul Qadir Bajoe and Dafadar, Muhammad Rafique intercepted a suspicious 2D vehicle No. AFV-118 at Kasleti check post, Wadh in district Khuzdar of Balochistan province.

During search, 15 kilo high quality Hashish was recovered from the hidden places of 2D vehicle. Two alleged accused namely Abdul Majeed son of Abdul Ghafar resident of Chaman and Muhammad Ramzan son of Abdul Bari, resident of Chaman were arrested in the operation. The alleged accused, impounded Hashish and vehicle were shifted to levies thana, Wadh for further investigation.

No letup in bike looting in Naundero region

NAUNDERO:Incidents of motorcycle snatching could not be curbed by Naundero and Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto police as a senior journalist Ihsan Junejo and another resident were robbed of their bikes, cash, mobile phones and other valuables near Garhi Khuda Bux interchange and Saidu Laro on Sunday.

Within the last 10 days, 10 bikes have either been snatched by armed criminals or stolen from the limits of Naundero police station as the cops were busy satisfying their political masters to save their precious postings instead of serving and providing safety to the common man.

Ihsan Junejo said that he was coming to Naundero along with Sajjad Junejo when they were suddenly intercepted by three armed men who were also on a bike. He said they looted us of our bike, three mobile phones and a cash of Rs35000 at gunpoint and fled comfortably as if they had no fear of law and the area police. He said a report has been lodged at Garhi Khuda Bux police station. Junejo further said that when he went to meet the SHO Garhi Khuda Bux he was sleeping and when came he remained busy on his Facebook account ignoring us completely instead of providing us relief.

In another incident, Amanullah Mangrio was also deprived of his 125 Honda bike at Saidu Turn within Naundero police station limits. In one week, 10 people have been deprived of their motorcycle which include known singer Ghulam Ali Samo, Nasim Channa, Jabbar Bhutto, Mudasir Shaikh and others but cops are in deep sleep.

Journalists of Naundero including Jamal Dawoodpoto, Samad Jamal, Rahmat Bhutto, Salim Solangi, Lateef Solangi, Abdul Qadir Odho and others have strongly demanded of the SSP and DIGP Larkana to curb crimes immediately, recover robbed bikes and other valuables, maintain peace at least in the hometown of slain Bhutto leaders or they will be out on roads against them for their fundamental and professional rights.
