Board Meeting of National Investment Trust Limited

Karachi, National Investment Trust Limited informed Pakistan Stock Exchange that board of directors meeting of the company is scheduled on July 05, 2022 to consider the final dividend for the funds.

Further, the company has declared the closed period from July 01, 2022 to July 06, 2022 (both days inclusive).

The NITL was established as a Trust which was constituted under the Trust Deed dated 12th November 1962, executed between National Investment Trust Ltd (NITL) as Management Company and National Bank of Pakistan as Trustee.

However, subsequently, Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited (CDCPL) was appointed as the new Trustee of NIUT Fund with the approval of Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan.

The change was finalized vide 7th supplemental Trust Deed dated 1st April, 2014 executed between National Investment Trust Limited (NITL) as Management Company and Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited (CDCPL) as Trustee with effect from 16th May, 2014.

Karachi, Treet Corporation Limited informed Pakistan Stock Exchange that board of directors meeting of the company held on June 28, 2022 at Lahore, have approved the five years Business Plan 2022-2023/ 2026-2027.

Treet Corporation Limited was incorporated in Pakistan on 22 January 1977 as a Public Limited Company. The principal activity of the Company is to manufacture and sell razors and razor blades along with other trading activities.

Karachi, IBL Healthcare Limited informed Pakistan Stock Exchange that board of directors meeting of the company will be held on July 07, 2022 at Karachi to consider the approve Annual Budget for the Year 2022-2023.

Further, the company has declared the closed period from June 29, 2022 to July 05, 2022.

IBL HealthCare Limited was incorporated in Pakistan as a private limited company on July 14, 1997. In November 2008 the Company was converted into a public limited company. The principal business activities of the Company include marketing, selling and distribution of health-care products.

The total numbers of shares of the Company are 54,087,605. The Earnings per shares of the Company is 4.07 in 2020 which was 2.24 in 2019. Their Profit after Taxation is 220,030,000 in 2020 which was 121,376,000 in 2019.

Govt unable to take country out of crisis: Imran

ISLAMABAD:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said Tuesday that the coalition government had no capacity to take the country out of the crisis, adding that if the subsidy on power of Rs500b will be given to the people, the country could come out of the crisis.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, Imran said that PTI will stage a historic gathering at the Parade Ground on Saturday evening. He appealed to the nation to fully participate in the protests, adding that in a democracy, it was a right to protest peacefully, adding all the development of Shehbaz Sharif had been in advertisements.

The PTI chairman said inflation had taken over the country due to the wrong policies of the PML-N-led coalition government. The people of the country were protesting against record inflation and increasing loadshedding problems and the government using force against peaceful protestors.

The former premier went on to say that Shaukat Tarin told the neutrals that the country would have to pay a heavy price for political instability. Imran said he knew that the country would not be taken care of by these people, adding the coalition government had given themselves NRO by ending the corruption cases of Rs1100b.

He said that the people were angry because they want to ask that what the reason behind the sky-rocketing inflation is. Imran posed the question that why the country was not witnessing the power outages of such intensity, when his party was in power, adding that despite paying the capacity payments the power plants are not generating electricity.

Imran said that PML-N’s government had installed plant on imported coal, adding that whoever built the Sahiwal should be put in jail, as the plant is also affecting the environment. Imran Khan alleged that election rigging is being prepared in Punjab, adding that Punjab police and bureaucracy persecuted the people on May 25 at the behest of Sharif mafia.

He said that officers should not do any illegal act, adding that it seems that Hamza Shehbaz’s government will no longer exist in Punjab. Imran Khan said that Hamza Shahbaz’s government has no constitutional status in Punjab, adding that thankfully, the court ruled on the reserved seats.

Imran Khan said the stock market has also fallen in two months, adding that the rupee has been depreciating steadily for the past two months. Imran said if half of the money of Zardari and Nawaz will be recovered, the country can come out of the economic crisis. Imran went on to say that there is no other way in the country but clean and transparent elections.

Medical board formed to ascertain Dua’s age

KARACHI:The Sindh Health Department on Tuesday has formed 10-member medical board to determine the age of Dua Zehra

The ten-member medical board will be headed by Saba Sohail, Principal of Dow Medical College and it will be the largest-ever medical board in Pakistan’s history. A meeting of the Medical Board has also been convened on June 29 at Services Hospital Karachi. The board comprises experts of radiology, gynaecology, dentistry and forensics.

A judicial magistrate in Karachi had ordered the formation of a medical board to ascertain the age of Dua Zehra, a resident of Karachi who had gone missing from the city some months ago and later found to have got married with Zaheer Ahmad of Punjab.

A medical test ordered by the Sindh High Court had found that Dua was 17. The SHC later ruled that Dua, who claims she had contracted marriage of her own accord, was free to decide to live with her husband or parents.

Later, her father, Mehdi Kazmi, challenged the SHC verdict in the Supreme Court where his petition was disposed of. Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar asked the petitioner if they had challenged Dua’s medical report. The three-member bench had further told Kazmi to approach the relevant forums for the formation of a medical board to determine his daughter’s age.

FM Miftah meets CNG association team

ISLAMABAD:Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Miftah Ismail held a meeting with delegation of All Pakistan CNG Association headed by APCNGA Group Leader Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha at Finance Division today.

Chairman OGRA, Chairman FBR and senior officers from Finance Division attended the meeting. The delegation apprised the Finance Minister about issues being faced by CNG sector in Pakistan, especially related to taxes.

The meeting also discussed the proposal for use of CNG as fuel for motor vehicles to reduce import bill and minimize Carbon Emission. Miftah assured the delegation to resolve their issues and provide maximum support to them.

NDMA warns of urban flooding from expected torrential rains

KARACHI:National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Tuesday warned the federal and provincial departments to remain alert amid risk of flooding in urban centers of Punjab and Sindh as new monsoon spell forecast indicates torrential rains.

The NDMA issued a detailed advisory in the light of the recent rain forecast of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) that predicted that monsoon rains were likely in the country from June 30. According to the latest press release of the PMD, rain with strong winds, gusts and thundershowers was expected in different parts of the country from Thursday, June 30 to Tuesday, July 5.

The Met Office advisory noted that Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad might face inundation from July 2-4 and low-lying areas of Karachi and Hyderabad are likely to be inundated during July 3-5 due to the torrential rains whereas landslides were feared in Galyat, and Murree.

In view of this situation, the NDMA has directed all Federal, Provincial Ministries, their attached departments including Provincial, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and District Disaster Management Authorities to deal with any kind of emergency and take timely and precautionary measures.

The PDMA and DDMA have been instructed to liaise with all concerned agencies, keep emergency machinery and staff ready and ensure advance presence of de-watering pumps for low lying areas so that proper steps could be taken to deal with the flood water.

The Authority also directed the local Rescue Services Departments to run large-scale awareness campaigns to alert residents of flood-prone areas, and especially those traveling to tourist destinations to avoid unnecessary journey.

In addition, the people living in low-lying areas should remain careful and report any kind of alarming situation to the emergency services immediately. It also directed the law enforcement agencies, including motorways and traffic police travelers and tourists to keep traveling to northern areas informed of the expected rainfall and the latest road conditions.
