26 dacoits surrender to police and law in Kashmore: Sindh Home Minister

26 wanted dacoits in Kashmore district have surrendered to law enforcement agencies, a move attributed to the success of the ongoing joint security operation and the Sindh government’s surrender policy.

Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar announced the development on Sunday, stating that it follows the surrender of 12 other dacoits in Sukkur a day earlier. He described these events as “the fruit of the Sindh government’s surrender policy.”

The minister emphasized that the state’s writ is strong in the riverine katcha areas, causing criminal elements to be under severe pressure and fear. He warned that the joint “mega-operation” will become more intense and effective over time.

Mr. Lanjar made a direct appeal to the remaining dacoits, advising them to surrender rather than be caught in the large-scale security crackdown. “We have shown the path of peace; if you follow it, you will be welcomed,” he said, urging them to take advantage of the government’s surrender policy “now, rather than regretting later.”

The minister confirmed that the joint operation, comprising the police, Sindh Rangers, and other law enforcement agencies, will continue with full force until complete peace is established. He identified the tri-border and katcha area as the special focus of this initiative.

“The dacoits, their hideouts, and their facilitators must ultimately be eliminated,” said Mr. Lanjar, adding that the Sindh government will pursue its goals “until the last dacoit is eradicated.”

The Home Minister praised the “outstanding and unparalleled performance” of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kashmore, and their team. He also termed the proactive role of the Sindh Rangers and other agencies as “praiseworthy and commendable.”
