Police in Larkana division have killed five notorious criminals and arrested six injured during operations conducted in the Katcha area over the past four days. Significantly, kidnappings for ransom have decreased remarkably in the region, and for the first time on record, the number of hostages stands at zero.
Under the leadership of DIG Larkana Nasir Aftab, law enforcement agencies in all five districts of Larkana division – Qambar-Shahdadkot, Larkana, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, and Kandhkot-Kashmore – are conducting continuous operations in both Katcha and Pacca areas. During the past four days, notorious dacoits Fateh Cholani and Razaq Cholani were killed in operations targeting the Cholani and Jafri gangs in Kandhkot-Kashmore district. Six others, including Dharo Jafri, Ghulam Jafri, and Anis Banglani, were injured and arrested. In Jacobabad district, officers killed notorious criminal Allah Bux Banglani, who had over 25 cases registered against him and carried a bounty of Rs. 5 million. Shikarpur police killed notorious dacoit Jalal Sabhiyo in a separate encounter. Larkana police killed the main accused, Rizwan alias Kalu Lohar, within 24 hours of the assault on a 15-year-old mentally challenged girl. Despite these successes, two officers from Shikarpur and Larkana were martyred in the line of duty.
The day and night operations against criminals in the Katcha area by Larkana Range Police are yielding significant results. From January 2024 to July 15, 2025, 292 abducted citizens were recovered. For the first time in the history of Larkana Range, no citizen is held hostage for ransom, which is a significant achievement for Larkana Range Police.
