President Asif Ali Zardari has appealed for enhanced efforts to boost emergency preparedness and relief operations among federal, provincial, and local institutions.
According to a message issued today by the Presidential Secretariat, the President expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of lives and destruction of homes, infrastructure, and properties in recent weather-related incidents.
In expressing sympathy, he offered condolences to the affected families and vowed solidarity with the victims.
The President has directed the National Emergency Relief Agency to issue timely warnings in collaboration with provincial counterparts and local administration to ensure a smooth communication mechanism for the protection of communities.
Additionally, he urged all relevant institutions to keep rescue and relief resources prepared. This includes proactive measures to ensure the safety of tourists and visitors in areas prone to sudden floods, glacial lake outbursts, and landslides, emphasizing the need for increased vigilance in these sensitive areas.
