52 kg heroin, ice drug captured at Torkham border

QUETTA:The custom officials on Monday recovered a huge quantity of ice (methamphetamine) and heroin measuring 52 kg from a truck at Torkham border.

According to Peshawar Custom Collector Amjad ur Rehman, the custom officials in a major raid, recovered around 52 kilos of meth and heroin from the hidden sections of a truck at Torkham border. The price of drugs in the international market is more than Rs520 million, he added.

He said the cargo vehicle was coming from Afghanistan via Torkham when it was intercepted. The truck was impounded and custom officials arrested a man, Rehman said. According to him, this is one of the major anti-narcotics operations in the history of customs department. In the last 15 days, customs officials have seized drugs worth Rs730 million at Torkham border, Rehman added.
