6 Rice Mills in Thatta Issued Notices Over Inadequate Fire Safety Measures

On the special directives of Deputy Commissioner Thatta, Sarmad Ali Bhagat, Assistant Commissioner Ghorabari, Faraz Ahmed Abbasi, on Tuesday issued notices to six rice mills established in Ghorabari Taluka after significant deficiencies were revealed in their fire safety arrangements, raising concerns about the protection of laborers and industrial assets.

The inspection in the War City area was conducted by Assistant Commissioner Ghorabari, Faraz Ahmed Abbasi, on the special directives of Deputy Commissioner Thatta, Sarmad Ali Bhagat. The purpose of this review was to assess fire safety protocols and ensure precautionary measures to prevent potential accidents.

The mills that underwent detailed inspection include The Riser Food Industry (Rice Mill), UK Rice Mill, Ghaus Pak Rice Mill, Hussain Rice Mill, Dam Dastgir Rice Mill, and Maula Madad Rice Mill.

During the inspection, deficiencies were found in the fire safety arrangements at various mills, prompting the Assistant Commissioner to issue notices to all concerned owners. The directives mandate the complete installation of necessary safety equipment, including fire extinguishers and alarm systems, within a specified period.

Mr. Abbasi clarified that no negligence will be tolerated when it comes to the protection of human lives and industrial properties.

In response, the mill owners assured the Assistant Commissioner of their full compliance with the directives, promising to improve fire safety arrangements as soon as possible.

According to the district administration, such inspections will continue in the future to maintain safety standards in industrial areas and prevent any untoward incidents.
