According to today’s forecast by the Meteorological Department, mostly dry and hot weather is predicted in most parts of the country, while severe heatwaves will be faced in the plains.
Contrary to the expectation of intense heat in most parts of the country, there is a ray of hope for the upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and the adjacent mountainous regions. These areas are expected to experience strong winds and thunderstorms, bringing some relief with rain after noon.
Morning temperature readings indicate that the day began warm in several cities, with Islamabad recording 25 degrees Celsius, both Lahore and Karachi at 29 degrees Celsius, and Peshawar at 27 degrees Celsius. Cooler temperatures were recorded in Quetta and Muzaffarabad at 23 degrees Celsius, while Gilgit and Murree felt a chill at 17 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius, respectively.
While the heatwave is gripping the plains, residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities during peak sunlight hours. Weather experts are closely monitoring the conditions and advising the public to stay alert and take necessary precautions to avoid rising temperatures.
