KARACHI:Three people, including two women and a child, were killed, and five others critically wounded when a speeding bus ran over a rickshaw near Wandhar Adda at Chowk Sarwar Shaheed on Mianwali Road near Multan on Thursday.
The accident occurred when the speeding bus, en route to Mianwali from Karachi, rammed a rickshaw near Sarwar Shaheed Chowk. As soon as news of the accident broke, the police and Rescue 1122 personnel rushed to the site. The performed rescue operation.
According to Rescue 1122, two injured were shifted to Nishtar Hospital Multan while three were taken to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Sarwar Shaheed for medical assistance.
The eyewitnesses said that the members in the rickshaw were all from the same family. They said that the bus was in high speed when it hit the rickshaw. There was hue and cry soon after the incident. A mourning atmosphere prevailed in the victims' houses. The police have lodged a report about the accident and have started probe into the accident. No arrest could be reported till filing this report.
