KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar visited Special Security Unit Headquarters here on Tuesday.
DIG Security Dr Maqsood Ahmed welcomed Sindh home minister. Additional Chief Secretary Home Sindh Muhammad Iqbal Memon accompanied the minister.
The SSU's smartly turned out contigent saluted the guests. The Sindh home minister visited various departments of SSU along with DIG Security and praised its current professional expertise and management and said that the performance of SSU is exemplary.
Mr Lanjar presided over the meeting at SSU Conference Hall, in which the DIG Security delivered briefing on the different units of the Security Division. He also informed about the security arrangements made during the Iranian President's visit to Pakistan and the international matches played in Karachi.
"To further enhance the professional skills of SSU commandos, Pakistan Army is providing training in various training institutes," the DIG added.
Commandant SSU Abdullah Memon, SP SSU Shamail Riaz, SP Security A Malik Asghar Usman and SP Foreigners Security Cell Farooq Ahmad also participated in the meeting.
The home minister also inspected a mock exercise conducted by the SWAT team to deal with any emergency situation. The DIG Security presented a commemorative shield to the Sindh Home Minister.
